Updated September 8, 2026. What men over 40 are actually talking about — each topic is a full article, not a blurb.

Trends are noisy. The playbook pages stay. These articles are a snapshot of the conversation plus a default, not a prescription.
Health — Sleep, bloodwork, mitochondria¶
Huberman’s mitochondria episode is the loudest drop this week — energy, aging, lactate, cell fuel. The parallel thread that actually matches this crowd: most testosterone is made in deep sleep; a week of five-hour nights drops T 10–15%. Morning blood draw (total/free T, SHBG, E2) plus a sleep study if you snore. Lifestyle first.[1]

Wealth — Covered-call yields vs cheap index¶
Retirement feeds are full of QQQI / GPIQ / OVL screenshots: $100k “yielding” $1k+/month. The other side is still VOO/VTI and the compounding-of-fees math over 40 years. We stay with cheap index funds; the yield chase is the fight.[2]

Nutrition — Protein first, alcohol last¶
Protein targets keep climbing in the replies: 0.8–1.5 g per lb because of anabolic resistance and ~300 g daily turnover. Alcohol is the other default to cut — fat loss, sleep, and alcohol-attributable cancer deaths in men 55+. Calories still ~11–12× goal bodyweight.[3]

Training — Lift 3×, walk 10k, joints first¶
Repeatable advice: three strength sessions with joint-friendly work (farmer carries, RDLs, floor/incline press, goblet squats) plus 10k+ walking. Extra volume is what wrecks 40+ bodies. Muscle is insurance; walking is recovery.[4]
